I had a brief conversation last night with a CF Crave athlete and wanted to share a comment this individual made. We were discussing accomplishments that this individual has made in the short 6 months of CrossFitting and this person's comment was, "I do love what I have gained over the course of the past 6 months. Forget the workouts, the friendships mean more to me than everything else. The fitness and workouts are a cool bonus!"
I totally get what this person is saying...CrossFit IS awesome, CrossFit DOES work, but what makes CrossFit so different is the fact that for some reason WODing with a group of folks creates a special friendship. No matter if you are 50 or 15 you share a common goal...to finish the WOD.
I personally experience these friendships in many ways but the one that stands out the most is during our move to our new place. Being 8 months pregnant doing it on my own wasn't an option. Starting at 6pm on a Friday night, as a group, we managed to accomplish a TON in just 3 1/2 hours. Again on Saturday a large crew of CrossFitters came together at 9am and we knocked out the entire move at 2pm! This would have never happened if it wasn't for all of your help and hard work.
